If you are getting fed up with the awesome marketing hype of the Apple machine, and you just want to be able to print to one of the 3 printers you already own…then read on.
The AirPrint concept sounds great, until you learn that you need to have some new HP printer to actually print from your iPhone or iPad. I have an HP LaserJet 4000 (a workhorse laser printer) that is plugged into an Airport Extreme. I can print via Bonjour to this printer from any machine on our network (Mac or Windows)…great. However, I was pretty peo’d when I learned that this AirPrint nonsense was just that.
That is until I found a great $10 app that I was printing with in 2 minutes. You can download a trial to make sure it will work for you…it works for a week. Thanks for finally letting me print to any printer from my iphone or ipad.
EDIT 1:
So far, I have tried to print from my iphone and from my ipad…unsuccessfully on both attempts. The configuration seemed straight forward enough…I have just not been able to get it to work thus far. Stay tuned.
